SocioLumen is an open-access journal. All published articles are made freely and permanently available to readers without subscription or access restrictions.
Copyright Ownership
Copyright in articles published by SocioLumen remains with the author or authors. Authors do not transfer their copyright to the journal.
By submitting and publishing an article in SocioLumen, authors grant the journal a non-exclusive right of first publication and permission to publish, distribute, archive, preserve, and identify the work as originally published by SocioLumen.
Authors remain free to use their work in future books, edited volumes, institutional repositories, personal websites, course materials, and other scholarly publications, provided that the original publication in SocioLumen is appropriately acknowledged.
Creative Commons Licence
Unless otherwise stated, articles published in SocioLumen are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0):

Under this licence, users may copy, share, distribute, reproduce, adapt, translate, and build upon the published material in any medium or format, including for commercial purposes, provided that:
- Appropriate credit is given to the author or authors and SocioLumen.
- A link to the original publication and the CC BY 4.0 licence is provided.
- Any changes made to the original work are clearly indicated.
- The reuse does not imply endorsement by the authors or the journal.
No additional legal or technological restrictions may be applied that prevent others from exercising the rights granted by the licence.
Author Rights and Self-Archiving
Authors may deposit and share the submitted, accepted, or published version of their article in institutional or disciplinary repositories, personal websites, academic networks, and other non-commercial or commercial platforms without an embargo period.
When sharing the published version, authors should include the complete citation, the Digital Object Identifier (DOI), where available, and a link to the version published by SocioLumen.
Third-Party Materials
The CC BY 4.0 licence applies only to material for which the authors hold the necessary rights. Images, tables, data, scales, questionnaires, photographs, or other third-party materials may be subject to different copyright conditions.
Authors are responsible for obtaining written permission to reproduce copyrighted material and for clearly stating any separate licence or restriction in the article. Material excluded from the article’s Creative Commons licence may not be reused without permission from the relevant rights holder.
Author Warranties
By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that:
- The work is original and does not unlawfully infringe the rights of any third party.
- All copyrighted material is used with appropriate acknowledgement and permission.
- All authors have approved the submission and publication of the work.
- Necessary permissions have been obtained for identifiable personal information, images, data, and supplementary materials.
- The authors are legally authorized to grant the journal the stated publication rights.
Journal Website and Brand Materials
The CC BY 4.0 licence applying to published articles does not automatically cover the SocioLumen name, logo, visual identity, website design, editorial materials, or other journal-owned brand elements. These materials may not be used in a way that suggests an official relationship with, sponsorship by, or endorsement from SocioLumen without prior written permission.
Copyright Concerns
Claims concerning copyright infringement or unauthorized use should be submitted through the journal’s official contact address. The editorial office will examine substantiated claims and may temporarily restrict, correct, or remove the disputed material when legally or ethically necessary.
