Open Access Policy

SocioLumen Journal of Social Sciences believes that the unrestricted dissemination of scholarly knowledge enhances the visibility, accessibility and societal impact of research. Accordingly, the journal adopts an open-access publishing model and makes all published articles freely available to readers without requiring subscription, registration or payment.

Immediate and Free Access

The full texts of all articles published in the journal are freely accessible immediately upon publication. No waiting period or access embargo is applied.

Subject to the applicable licence terms, readers may:

  • Read and download published articles;
  • Save and print them;
  • Copy, share and distribute them;
  • Use them for scholarly and educational purposes;
  • Cite and link to them;
  • Reuse and adapt them in other works;
  • Process them for text and data mining purposes.

Open Access Licence

Unless otherwise expressly stated, articles published in the journal are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International Licence (CC BY 4.0).

This licence permits users to copy, share, distribute, adapt and reuse the work, including for commercial purposes. When reusing an article, users must:

  • Give appropriate credit to the author or authors;
  • State that the article was first published in SocioLumen Journal of Social Sciences;
  • Provide a link to the article’s DOI;
  • Provide a link to the applicable licence;
  • Clearly indicate whether any changes have been made.

Copyright

Authors retain the copyright in their published works. They grant SocioLumen Journal of Social Sciences the right of first publication and authorize the journal to publish their articles under the CC BY 4.0 licence.

The publication right granted to the journal is non-exclusive. Authors may reuse their articles in subsequent academic works, books, teaching materials and other scholarly activities, provided that the original publication details and appropriate attribution are included.

Archiving and Sharing

Authors may deposit and share the following versions of their manuscripts without an embargo:

  • The submitted version before peer review;
  • The accepted version following peer review;
  • The final Version of Record published by the journal.

Authors may deposit their work in institutional repositories, subject-based repositories, personal academic websites and researcher profiles. When sharing the final published version, the complete bibliographic citation and DOI link must be included.

Third-Party Material

Images, tables, scales, maps, datasets and other third-party materials included in an article may not be covered by the CC BY 4.0 licence. Authors are responsible for obtaining the necessary permissions and complying with the copyright and reuse conditions applicable to such materials. Any material excluded from the article’s open-access licence must be clearly identified.

Publication Fees

SocioLumen Journal of Social Sciences does not use open access as a commercial charging mechanism. The journal does not charge authors any submission, preliminary screening, peer-review, article processing or publication fees.

The journal implements this policy to make scholarly knowledge available to the widest possible audience, increase the discoverability and reusability of research outputs and reduce economic and technical barriers to academic communication.
