Author Guidelines

Authors wishing to submit a manuscript to SocioLumen should carefully review the journal’s Aim and Scope, Publication Ethics, Writing Rules, and Article Processing Charges policies before submission.

1. General Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be original, scientifically sound, and relevant to the scope of the journal.
  • A manuscript must not have been previously published or be under consideration by another journal.
  • All authors must have made a genuine contribution to the study and approved the submitted version.
  • Authors are responsible for the accuracy of all information, data, citations, and references included in the manuscript.
  • Manuscripts may be submitted in Turkish or English.

2. Types of Manuscripts

SocioLumen accepts original research articles, review articles, theoretical and conceptual studies, case studies, and other scholarly contributions relevant to the social sciences. 

3. Files Required for Submission

Authors should upload the following files separately:

  • An anonymized manuscript without author names or identifying information
  • A title page including the manuscript title, authors’ names, institutional affiliations, email addresses, ORCID identifiers, and corresponding author information
  • Information regarding author contributions, funding, conflicts of interest, and acknowledgements
  • Ethics committee approval, informed consent, data availability statements, or supplementary files where applicable

Authors must remove names, affiliations, acknowledgements, and other identifying information from the anonymized manuscript.

4. Research and Publication Ethics

Research involving human participants, personal data, surveys, interviews, experiments, or vulnerable groups must comply with applicable ethical and legal requirements. Where required, the name of the approving ethics committee, decision date, and approval number must be stated in the manuscript.

Authors must obtain informed consent and necessary permissions where applicable. Fabrication, falsification, plagiarism, duplicate publication, improper authorship, citation manipulation, and undisclosed conflicts of interest are unacceptable.

5. Use of Artificial Intelligence

Artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors. Any use of generative artificial intelligence in drafting, translation, analysis, coding, image production, or other substantive stages of the study must be transparently disclosed, including the name of the tool and the purpose for which it was used. Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, integrity, and appropriate citation of the submitted work.

6. Review Process

Submitted manuscripts are initially evaluated by the editorial team regarding scope, originality, ethical compliance, and adherence to journal rules. Manuscripts that pass the preliminary assessment are evaluated through a double-anonymous peer-review process.

When revisions are requested, authors should upload:

  • A revised and anonymized manuscript
  • A detailed response letter addressing each reviewer comment
  • A marked version showing the changes, if requested by the editor

Compliance with the journal’s technical requirements does not guarantee acceptance.

7. Final Submission Checklist

Before completing the submission, authors should confirm that:

  • The manuscript complies with the Aim and Scope of SocioLumen.
  • The manuscript has not been published or submitted elsewhere.
  • Author-identifying information has been removed from the anonymized file.
  • All sources are cited accurately and included in the reference list.
  • Tables, figures, and supplementary materials are complete and properly numbered.
  • Necessary ethics approvals, permissions, and declarations have been provided.
  • The manuscript complies with the journal’s Writing Rules.
  • All authors have approved the final version.

Manuscripts that do not comply with these requirements may be returned to the authors before editorial evaluation.
